Dear Katie, I recently joined the community and thought I would answer your question eventhough it's been over a month. I did a little research to make sure TUMS was safe during pregnancy. According to the manufacturer, there are no harmful effects taking TUMS during pregnancy. However, I do recommend only taking it in moderation. It's best to take it after a meal because calcium carbonate (the type of calcium in TUMS) requires extra stomach acid to be absorbed. Also, if you find no relief with TUMS some other safe alternatives include chewing gum and peppermint tea. Have a happy, healthy pregnancy! Take care, Dr. Ha Dang, ND Naturopathic Doctor
