Q.I'm almost 33 weeks with in my third pregnancy and have dropped. I've read that in later pregnancies women typically don't drop until right before labor. Should I be concerned about early labor? Also, in this pregnancy Braxton Hicks contractions have become significantly stronger/more noticable and seem to come in clusters. I'll know once real contractions start, but should I be concerned about frequent and clustered Braxton Hicks?

Hello Michelle, In my experience, Braxton-Hicks contractions can happen from early in pregnancy, especially when the mom is active. They don't usually mean early labor is happening. Also, some women drop early on, and feel as if the baby is between their legs for weeks. Remember that a lot of what you read is a generalization and there are exceptions. As always, consult your care provider with your concerns. He or she will be able to address these issues. Take Care, Lauri Hughes, CD (DONA)
