Hello Michelle,
In my experience, Braxton-Hicks contractions can happen from early in pregnancy, especially when the mom is active. They don't usually mean early labor is happening. Also, some women drop early on, and feel as if the baby is between their legs for weeks. Remember that a lot of what you read is a generalization and there are exceptions.
As always, consult your care provider with your concerns. He or she will be able to address these issues.
