Q.I am expecting my third child and am planning to breastfeed. I breastfed both of my other children without any problems. My only problem isn't with the feeding aspect, it's more about the after effects on my body. My breasts have always been slightly different sizes. Neither child ever nursed more on one side or the other, but I've noticed that after each weening, this as gotten more obvious. Is there any way to prevent this from getting worse after this baby? If I feed more on one side than the other will it make a difference? Thank You, Colette

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about this. Most women have a breast that is larger, it just becomes more apparant when you lose breast tissue to breastfeeding. I hope this doesn't keep you from breastfeeding, as you are obviously aware, it is the best for your child. Personally, I know this is frustrating to lose breast size and tissue...one of the many things we moms do for our kids. Dr. Winkelbauer
